The Sugar Loaf viewed from Killarney Road, Bray |
The Sugar Loaf (elevation 501 m) is situated to the west of Bray Town in North Wicklow, Ireland. It is the highest peak in the coastal range of low hills that ends in the sharp drop into the sea at Bray Head.
From there the range gently slopes down southwards to Greystones and westwards beyond the Sugarloaf through the Glen of the Downs and beyond into the Wicklow Mountain range proper.
The Sugarloaf is also known as The Great Sugar Loaf or the Big Sugar Loaf on account of its sister the nearby Little Sugar Loaf (elevation 342 m) or Giltspur Mountain.
